Family Engagement Under Construction

Family Engagement Under Construction

The Mississippi Department of Education's Family Engagement Framework and Toolkit provides a structured approach to building strong partnerships between families and schools. It emphasizes creating welcoming environments, empowering families, and fostering student success through collaboration.  The toolkit includes strategies and activities aligned with national standards, such as Head Start's Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Framework, and is tailored for various early learning settings. It supports educators in planning and implementing effective family engagement practices that are inclusive and culturally responsive.

The Transition Toolkit Training complements this framework by focusing on helping children and families navigate key educational transitions, such as moving from Pre-K to Kindergarten.  It offers practical tools, including planning templates, readiness checklists, and alignment guides with Mississippi's Early Learning Standards. The training encourages collaboration among educators, families, and community partners to ensure children are supported academically, socially, and emotionally during these transitions. Together, these resources aim to strengthen early childhood education through intentional, family-centered practices.
