McComb School District: MyView Workshop

 The McComb School District's MyView Workshop and Unit Internalization is a professional development training focused on enhancing literacy instruction[cite: 1]. The training aims to improve reading proficiency through the Science of Reading, specifically using the Savvas MyView HQIM and MyView Unit 1 Internalization workshop session[cite: 1]. The Science of Reading is operationalized through Structured Literacy, emphasizing explicit, systematic, and cumulative teaching of foundational reading skills, including phonological awareness, phonics, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse[cite: 29, 30].  This professional development is crucial because research indicates that many students lack access to grade-appropriate assignments, strong instruction, deep engagement, and high teacher expectations, all essential for developing grade-level mastery[cite: 15, 16].
