Mississippi Attendance Leadership Summit: The Power of Daily Attendance
The Mississippi Department of Education, Office of Compulsory School Attendance and Enforcement and Dropout Prevention, will host a statewide prefessional development conference focused on chronic absenteeism, dropout prevention, and improving outcomes for at risk youth. The conference will bring together school administrators, educators, school attendance officers, youth court personnel, juvenile justice professionals, foster care liaisons, and other community partners committed to increasing student attendance, engagement, and overall student success. The conference will feature keynote speakers, subject matter experts, and interactive breakout sessions designed to address root causes of student disengagement. Topoics will include trauma informed practices, family engagement, dropout prevention strategies, early intervention, multi-tiered systems of support, and evidence based practices that improve attendance and graduation outcomes. The overall goal of the conference is to strengthen the capacity educators and community partners to identfy barriers to student success, implement effective intervention strategies, foster meaningful family and community partnerships, and reduce chronic absenteeism and dropout rates while improving educational outcomes for Mississippi students.
