Elementary Computer Science: Summer Institute: Hattiesburg
In this two-day training, elementary educators will review the Mississippi-College-and-Career-Readiness Standards for Computer Science to better understand the skills that need to be taught at each grade level. The standards are organized by core concepts: Computing Systems (digital fluency), Networks and the Internet (digital literacy), Data and Analysis, Algorithms and Programming, and Impacts of Computing (digital citizenship). In addition to the standards, participants will examine cross-curricular connections between computer science and other content areas, explore ways to integrate computer science instruction, model computer science lessons, and practice coding and robotic skills.
