Effective Instruction and Exemplar Units for ELA
The MDE, Office of Professional Development is offering one-day sessions at six locations across the state for Math and English/Language Arts teachers on effective instructional practices in exemplar units. Participants will engage in hands-on activities that will help them.
• understand the relationship between an exemplar unit and the domains of the Teacher Growth Rubric with the Professional Growth System.
• identify and make content-specific instructional shifts in exemplar lessons/units.
• understand how to identify and apply high-quality, content-specific instructional practices.
• understand how to make informed instructional decisions concerning instructional units.
Participants should bring a copy of a lesson plan and/or unit that he/she has implemented or plans to implement. Also, participants should bring a laptop.
This session is specifically designed for Teachers and General Education Teachers
You will be provided approximately an hour to have lunch with your training colleagues on your own. Information on convenient local eateries will be provided at the training.
