This session will provide district Special Education Directors, Data Coordinators, and/or Preschool Coordinators with information regarding Indicators 6, 7, and 12 in an effort to improve completion rates and data quality.  Staff from DaSy (The Center for IDEA Early Childhood Data Systems) will be on hand to discuss how districts can improve data quality  and how to interpret data to improve student outcomes.  Individual district data for Indicators 6 and 7 will be provided and participants will engage in small-group discussion with their district teams along with facilitators from MDE to address specific issues on a district level.  A Whole-group plenary session will address current trends for Indicator 12.  District teams will leave this session with an individualized plan for improving data quality and usage.

There are no limitations on the number of participants per district.  Registration is first-come-first -served basis.

Miss. Const. Art. 4, Section 66 Eligible attendees for this training includes teachers, counselors, and administrators who are employed by a school district or MDE. Unless specifically noted otherwise, external contractors or vendors may not attend. This event is being funded with state and/or federal funds and is being provided for employees of school districts, employees of the Mississippi Department of Education and Department contractors. Miss. Const. Art. 4, Section 66 prohibits governing authorities from making donations. According to the Mississippi Attorney General, once the federal funds are turned over to the state, the rules for the expenditure of state funds apply. Based on the Mississippi law, this event is not being provided for third party vendors or external providers.
